New white

Contemporary porcelain art

5 July to 8 December 2024

Porcelain was the white gold that was brought to the Netherlands at the time of the VOC. In the 18th century, European factories succeeded in producing a similar material. Today, porcelain is an integral part of our daily lives. Washbasins, toilet bowls, crockery, prostheses, even knives and machine parts are made from this hard white material. This exhibition runs alongside the Porcelain Fever exhibition at the Nationaal Keramiek Museum Princessehof in Leeuwarden. It focuses on the first European porcelain from the 18th century. The Tiendschuur Ceramics Centre shows contemporary porcelain art by leading ceramists from all over Europe.
